ADVISORY BOARD
To help steward the Plimhimmon Group's initial vision, an Advisory Board has been retained. Comprising gentlemen of distinct accomplishment and character, the board meets every calendar quarter.
Rahsaan G. Bernard
Mr. Bernard is President and CEO of Beyond Excellence, an innovative provider of wellness solutions. Mr. Bernard is a certified personal trainer, a certified nutritionist, a Founding Member of the Young Executive’s Board of the City Club of Washington, and serves on the Andrews Air Force Base Business and Community Alliance. Mr. Bernard holds a BS in Healthcare Informatics from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County, and a Masters in Business Administration from Bowie State University. He resides in Maryland with his wife and their young son, and worships at From the Heart Church Ministries.
Douglas H. Gilbert
Mr. Gilbert has over 15 years of private equity investment experience with private partnerships and public investment vehicles. He is currently a Managing Director at MCG Capital Corporation and has held positions with Winston Partners, Thayer Capital Partners and Boston Ventures Management. Mr. Gilbert also has 4 years of merger and acquisition experience with Lehman Brothers and The Bridgeford Group. He holds a BA in Political Economy from Williams College and received a Masters of Business Administration from the Harvard Business School. Mr. Gilbert and his wife of 16 years, Kathleen, have four sons. They reside in Potomac, Maryland, and worship at Fourth Presbyterian Church.
Peter Hiskey
Mr. Hiskey has had an extensive career in the golf industry, working for Ping Golf Equipment for 24 years. He is currently an Associate of International Foundation, a non-profit foundation based in Washington, DC. Mr. Hiskey oversees a Property in Annapolis, Maryland, called LivingStone, where young men, primarily orphans, are resettled through the United Nations from Sudan. He has also given his time to coach high school golf since 2003. Mr. Hiskey and his wife of 25 years, Carolyn, reside in Annapolis, Maryland. The couple has four children.
Jimmy Kemp
Mr. Kemp, formerly with Kemp Partners, a strategic consulting firm, is currently President of the Kemp Foundation, a non-profit dedicated to carrying on the legacy of Mr. Kemp's late father, Jack Kemp. Prior to Kemp Partners, Mr. Kemp spent eight years as a quarterback in the Canadian Football League, and is active in promoting school choice in his home of Washington, DC. A 1991 graduate of Wake Forest University, Mr. Kemp and his wife have four sons, and worship at Fourth Presbyterian Church.
Clyde Lear
Mr. Lear is a journalist by training, and the Founder of Learfield Communications, a national media company headquartered in Jefferson City, Missouri. Mr. Lear holds an AB from Central Methodist College, and an MA from the University of Missouri. Mr. Lear and his wife, Sue, are passionate about mentoring young people in their hometown, throughout the United States, and around the world. Mr. Lear serves on several boards and civic organizations, and he and his wife are the proud parents of three adult children.
Michael Looney
Mr. Looney has spent 16 years with Principal Financial Group, and currently serves as Vice President of Retirement and Investor Services. Mr. Looney oversees the mid-Atlantic region, representing approximately 2.5 billion in retirement plan assets. A 1989 graduate of the University of Maryland, Mr. Looney lives in Potomac, Maryland, with his wife and four children. Mr. Looney is on the Board of Fourth Presbyterian School, and serves as an Elder at Fourth Presbyterian Church.
Joshua K. Rivers
Mr. Rivers has over 9 years of experience in the financial services industry and currently serves as a Relationship Manager at Keel Point Advisors, a Multi-Family Office in Vienna, VA. Mr. Rivers holds a BA in English Literature from the University of Maryland where he was inducted into Sigma Tau Delta, honors fraternity for his major. He is Vice President and a member of the Board of Governors of the Annapolis Touchdown Club and a 2007 Graduate of Leadership Anne Arundel’s Flagship class. Mr. Rivers resides in Arnold, MD with his wife and three children
Steve South
Mr. South received his J.D. degree from George Mason University School of Law and has spent most of his professional career working in the political and the non-profit world. He is currently serving as Vice President at the CEO Forum, Inc., in Colorado Springs. Mr. South and his wife, Cheryl, are parents of four adult children.
